Currently the Town-s permit allows for the monthly average of discharge to be .8mgd. The exceedance was ,95mgd for the monthly average. The Town is currently working with McGill Associates, the Towns engineering firm, to go after CDBG-I funds in order to replace a large section of the sewer line running from Main Street down to the sewer plant located on Pine Swamp Rd. This project has been approved by Town Council to seek the CDBG-1 funds. This will be done by pipe bursting 12,999 linear feet of existing gravity line and lining of 58 manholes. The Town is working with High Country on a storm water system project to detect any storm drains from houses to the roads that may be connected directly to the sanitary sewer system. Getting these spots located and disconnected will play a Key role in the Townes infiltration and inflow issues. We should hear news of the grant application in November.
