Tim Heim of the Asheville Regional Office performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection of the facility
on October 27, 2020. Paul Johnson (ORC) was present at the time of the inspection.
The following deficiencies were noted at the time of the inspection:
The bar screen apertures are too wide and not adequately removing solids and debris. This is causing
operational issues with the facility and increased maintenance efforts. Complete bar screen
improvement project.
The following additional items were noted at the time of the inspection:
Staffing and operation changes to the camp due to COVID may result in variations in cleaning and
maintenance schedules as well as available staffing resources for the WWTP. Ensure the ORC has
adequate time and resources to maintain and operate the WWTP.
