Durham Public Schools plans to construct an access drive around the existing school facilities. The purpose of the
project is to address serious safety and traffic concerns. Currently, school traffic during peak hours causes significant
problems along Garrett Road. Additionally, it has proved unsafe, as several children have been hit by cars on the road.
The proposed access drive will allow room for school traffic to get off of Garrett Rd. and provide a safe place for drop off
and pick up. The current plan includes a Stormwater Impact Analysis required by Durham.
