We discussed the HQW water with respect to stormwater while we were in the field. Because there will be no additional impacts to the McDeeds Creek tributary (the pipe will be replaced with a pipe of the same length and the existing rip-rap pool will be rebuilt without further impact to the stream) and stormwater inputs will be decreased, no additional stormwater controls will be required. However, if this changes, please let us know. For the stormwater that is not going to the HQW. I am understanding that, due to the decrease in impervious area stormwater to this system will be decreased as well. Since stormwater will be decreased, the DWQ will not require additional stormwater controls to this system either, unless the current level of treatment is altered such that less treatment is achieved. However, we would encourage additional treatment if the project allows, such as grassed swales or some other means. I hope this answers your question. If you find that you need further clarification or more information, please feel free to contact me. DWQ isn't expecting any stormwater treatment since we did not increase the impervious area. Is this correct'? That would make these listing more recent than those included in the Basinwide Water Quality Plan. Listings in the Basinwide Water Quality Plans are based on biological monitoring results and meant to assess waters based on use support (i.e. is the designated use(s) being met). It appears that McDeeds Creek is not listed on the Water Quality Plan you sent the link to because there is no biological monitoring data for McDeeds Creek (1 think I am looking at the correct waterbody) as indicated by the thinnest grey line in the legend (even if McDeeds Creek was a thicker grey line; that would appear to mean that some monitoring data has been collected, but still not enough to assess if uses are being supported, or another issue exists that keeps it from being 2 Thanks James Pflaum NC Department of "I"ransportation PDEA Environmental Resource Center 4701 Atlantic Ave Raleigh, NC 27604 919-431-6527 1598 MSC Raleigh, NC 27699 Email correspondence to and from this sender is subject to the N.C.
