Quality Certification for the Proposed Replacement of Bridge 103 on NC 268
over Mitchell River in Surry County, Division 11, TIP No. BR-0048, Debit$570

Dear Madam:
The North Carolina Depai triient of Transportation(NCDOT)proposes to replace bridge number 103 on NC
268 with a new bridge just north of the existing alignment. Traffic will utilize the existing bridge during
construction.
As a result of replacing the existing bridge, there will be 12 linear feet of stream bank stabilization at the
outlet of a new ditch, and 0.12 acre of temporary stream impacts from causeways needed for removal of
the existing bridge and construction of the new one.
Please see enclosed copies of the Pre-Construction Notification(PCN),bat memo,Catawba response letter,
Stormwater Management Plan, and Permit Drawings. A Minimum Criteria Determination Checklist
(MCDC) was completed in May 2019 and distributed shortly thereafter. Additional copies are available
upon request.
This project calls for a letting date of June 15, 2021 and a review date of April 27,2021.
