I spoke to Ken Averitte and lea a voiwmail message for Cyndi Karoly explaining our efforts to secure the data requested by Ms. Lillette Grenade ofthe USACE in her letter of March 10, 2003. 1 am enclosing a copy of my letter of July 21, 2003 to Ms. Grande informing her of our progress with this project. I was surprised by Ms. Grenade's decision to close our file with the Corps in view of her visit to the site and knowledge of the efforts to correct the wetland map as per her instructions. However, please be advised that Cape Fear Industries is seriously interested in pursuing this project and will provide the necessary data to satisfy all parties. please call me with any questions or needed information, : 4(a? Box 1890 Wilmington, NC 28402-1890 Dear Mrs. Granada: Aug. 01 2003 06:09PM P02 Please reference our telephone conversation last week in response to your letter dated iuly 8, 2003 wherein you notified me that the above-cited file had been closed because of inaction with regard to the additional information requested in your letter of March 10, 2003, I regret that the information you requested has not yet been furnished, but please be assured that this project remains of great interest to Cape Fear Industries and the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. You are aware of some of the efforts we have expanded to gather information, especially the provision of a delineation of the affected wetlands. Following your March W letter, I requested Mitchell & Associates, Inc, to perform the necessary field work to provide you an accurate wetland delineation. You were able to schedule a site visit with Syron Bateman of Mitchell & Associates on April 24, 2003, at which time some deficiencies in the delineation and the initial map were noted. Since that time, we have been working with Mr. George Lott, the surveyor for Cape Fear Industries, who has had considerable delays, because of inclimate weather. I am informed now that the corrected map should reach me this week. 1 anticipate that 1 should than be able to provide a comprehensive response to your March 10 letter.
