Box 1890 Wilmington, NC 28402 W ° M /401 Jot G 7 cuu3 Dear Ms. Frye: ?411EAQ?q?.y -? I am writing to request a 2 year (longer if possible) extension of the 404 permit issued to Little River Associates (Action ID 199701183). The current extension expires on 30 June 2003. The development was permitted based on a 20+ year development plan that was requested by the Corps. As a result, even if the development was on track, multiple extensions would have been required. No significant work authorized by this permit has occurred. and none is planned for the immediate future. Adverse economic conditions have prevented the developer from moving forward on the planned time line. The site plan is being revised and some jurisdictional impacts, already authorized, will be modified or eliminated. The required wetland preservation has been completed (Conservation Easement donated to the Sandhills Area Land Trust) and the wetland creation site has been graded. Site work at the creation area has not been completed due to the wet winter and spring. Also, we request that the Corps renew the jurisdictional wetland delineation for this site. However, since the approved delineation for shows numerous "isolated" wetlands in an old pasture, we request that the Corps determine whether or not these isolated areas are, in fact, still jurisdictional. Please call with any questions. Cc: Mr. Rich Smith Mr. Bobby Blanche Mr. John Dorney, DWQ Sin rely, f Dr. J.H.
