Dear Mr Gleason:
We have reviewed the Special Order by Consent and are in agreement with the
terms of the order with the exception of item 3 (i). The Town of Taylorsville has
received a Community Development Block Grant as well as funds from the
Appalachian.Regional Commission to partially finance the construction of our new
wastewater treatment plant. The remainder of the construction cost will be paid
by the Town of Taylorsville. Since there will be no debt incurred for the
construction of the plant and the Town has committed to a one-time capital
investment, we are requesting that item 3 (i) be deleted.
We realize that there will be additional operating costs due to the plant expansion
and propose to adjust the sewer rates to produce the needed revenue.
Please advise if you are in agreement with our proposal.
