Cc: Mark Hawes; travisbrannon@shurtape.com Subject: Shurtape Stony Point Package Plant - Permit NC0072664 Mr. Krebs: This email is to follow up your conversation with Mark Hawes, Shurtape Director of EHS, earlier today, regarding our Stony Point Plant wastewater system package plant. Due, we believe, to the extremely hot temperatures, it has been difficult to maintain the desired dissolve oxygen (DO) level in the aeration basin at the referenced plant. As of yet, the problems have not resulted in non-compliance, and we believe that the weekly samples collected on today's date will likewise demonstrate compliance. However, ou,r ORC and backup 0RC have been trying to reduce the MLSS concentration to a level that would allow the DO to increase. Currently, we believe the best plan is to reduce the water level in the package plant and re -seed. We believe that the re -seeding will provide a healthy biomass concentration and will allow us to remain in compliance with the effluent limitations. Please contact either myself at the numbers listed below or via email, or Mark Hawes via email at mhawes@shurtape.com, if you need additional information. Sincerely, Jerry W.
