This letter and enclosed documentation is for renewal of NPDES Permit NCO034967 for
Carolina Glove Company. No changes have been made to the waste water system at
the Alexander County location. All discharge is Sanitary in nature, no water is used in
any manufacturing process.
Enclosed is a signed permit application, two copies and maps showing the location of
the plant relative to its location near the Lower Little River.

Sludge Treatment
Overview of Sludge Treatment Operations at Carolina Glove Company, Taylorsville, NC.
All waste water is of a sanitary nature, no treatments or processes use water.
Sewage from all buildings is piped to the treatment unit.
The Muffin Monster breaks up the sludge.
Tank one is the aerator.
Tank. two is the clairifer, this requires scraping twice each week to remove buildup. Scum is returned
to the aerator tank.
Tank three is the chlorinator unit.
Treated waste water is piped to the Lower Little River.
Regular testing is performed by a County Waste Water Official and records of inspections and testing
are maintained at the Plant Office.

Final discharge of the treated waste water
All wastewater is treated in the on -site facility. Regular checks of the system are made by County
Officials.
