DANIEL SMITH Director Mr. Patrick Phifer (via email) Mayor, Town of Cleveland P.O. Box 429 Cleveland, North Carolina 27013 Dear Mr. Phifer: NORTH CAROLINA Environmental Quality September 28, 2020 Subject: Compliance Evaluation Inspection Permit WQ0011431 Land Application of Residuals Town of Cleveland Rowan County On September 10, 2020, staff from the Mooresville Regional Office of the Division of Water Resources performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection for this facility. We wish to thank Troy Cassidy for his assistance during the inspection. Last year, residual sludge had to be sent to a landfill at an expense to the Town of Cleveland. While this is a perfectly acceptable practice, the Town may wish to pursue a permit modification to add additional land for application, which could save costs. The attached report should be self-explanatory; however, should you have any questions, feel free to contact our office by phone at 704-235-2198 or by email at edward.watsonOncdenr.gov.
