This project is for the construction of the North Carolina National Guard
Readiness Center in McLeansville, North Carolina.
The Site contains mostly forested areas with a few sections of early
successional growth. There are two perennial and four intermittent stream
features and multiple headwater wetland features found within the Site. In
addition, there is a maintained transmission right-of-way within the southern
section of the Site. Approximately 90% of the Site is comprised of forested
areas, while 10% contains early successional growth within the maintained
transmission right-of-way. The Site is bound by Camp Burton Road to the
north and to the south by residential development and a forested area. To
the east, the Site is bound by cow pasture and forested area and to the
west, by Greensboro Urban Loop.
David Bailey and Sue Homewood met with Timmons Group for a field
confirmation on 06/06/2019. An Approved Jurisdictional Determination and
a Preliminary Jurisdictional Determination were issued on 01/21/2020. The
AJD expires on 01/20/2025. DWR issued the Buffer Determination approval
on 07/18/2019 and it expires on 07/18/2024.
