The project consists of upgrades to the existing Johnston County
wastewater treatment facility (WWTF), installation of a force main from the
WWTF to a cascade aerator near the Neuse River, and installation of
discharge pipe from the cascade aerator to the Neuse River. Several
streams and wetlands will be traversed by the force main, a wetland will be
traversed by the discharge pipe, and a new outlet will be installed on the
bank of the Neuse River.
