The Dale's Creek Restoration Site (DCRS) is a full -delivery stream
mitigation project being developed for the North Carolina Division of
Mitigation Services (DMS) in the French Broad River Basin (06010105 8-
digit cataloging unit) in Buncombe County, North Carolina. The site's
natural hydrologic regime has been substantially modified through livestock
impacts and removal of the riparian buffer. This site offers the chance to
restore streams impacted by pasture and agriculture to a stable headwater
ecosystem with a functional riparian buffer and floodplain access, while
also reducing incoming nutrients from livestock.
