Dear Michael,
RECENI/ED

DEQ•FAYETTEVILLE REGIONAL OFFICE
It was good to talk with you yesterday. Per our conversation I am writing you this note to
confirm that Tyton NC Biofuels is not currently in operation. Tyton ceased operations in
October of 2018 and has not operated since that time. Tyton is in late stage discussions with a
buyer and continues to work toward finalizing a sale. At this time the buyer is indicating to
Tyton that their intention is to spend a number of months renovating and improving the Tyton
facility before beginning ethanol production.
As I mentioned during our conversation, Tyton does not foresee restarting ethanol production
under Tyton ownership. Should that situation change we will immediately notify you of our
intentions. Per your instruction Tyton will also make sure that once the sale is finalized it
complies with the NC DEQ change of ownership regulations and files the required change of
ownership forms with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality.
If after reading this letter you feel you need more clarification regarding operations at Tyton NC
Biofuels or. if you are required to conduct a site inspection please contact me at 910.248.6714
or via email at rbrehm@tvtonbiofuels.com.
Regards
Rick Brehm
