NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP
FOR THE PROPOSED REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE NO. 72 ON
SR 1407 (MEDLEY DRIVE) OVER JONATHAN CREEK
TIP Project No. B-4762
Haywood County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold the
above Citizens Informational Workshop on April 12, 2010 between the hours of
5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of Jonathan Valley Elementary School
located at 410 Hall Drive, Waynesville.
Interested individuals may attend this informal workshop at their
convenience during the above stated hours. Department of Transportation
representatives will display maps and will be available to answer questions and
receive comments from the public. There will be no formal presentation.
NCDOT proposes to replace Bridge No. 72 on SR 1407 (Medley Drive)
over Jonathan Creek. There are currently three alternatives under consideration.
Alternative 1 replaces the bridge upstream (south) of the existing bridge location
while utilizing the existing bridge as detour. Alternative 2 replaces the bridge
upstream of the existing bridge location while using the existing bridge as detour
and improvements to the existing approaches. Alternative 3 replaces the bridge
on existing location while utilizing a temporary on-site detour.
