Tract I 43531.40 S.F. 1.00 Acres
TRACT II - Carpet Carousel, LLC
Tract II 17293.34 S.F. 0.40 Acres
General Information:
Charles Rawls, PLS has provide the following information;
1. Total existing impervious surface for Tract I + Tract II = 38,276 sf
2. Future impervious surfaces for Tract I + Tract II = 43,736 sf
3. Since the project is built complete with pavement and all flow
is directed to an existing DOT catch basin, the method of
BMP indicates a "sand filter" should be used.
4. DENR correspondence on 4-15-03 discussed sediment basin
and f ilter basin surface area requirements of 360 sq. ft. each side
with volume requirements of 540 cubic feet each side.
5. Subsequent information confirmed the property is within 1/2 mile
of the White Oak River (SA) and size requirements are based
on the 1 1/2" event which increases surface requirements to
540 square feet each basin, and volume requirements to 810 cubic
feet each basin.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES AND EXPLANATION OF SYSTEM
1. The runoff from the parking lot system presently
enters the depressed catch basin inlet at ele. + 8.5'.
This entry path shall be blocked with a poured curb
The overflow elevation shall be set at +9.1'. Flow to the
sediment basin is routed over an approximate 5' wide
overflow weir set at elevation + 9.0'.
2. The sediment chamber is 1.6' deep at the overflow.
It contains 572 sq.ft., has a concrete floor with
paraged masonry walls with overflow details below.
The volume of the sediment basin is 916 cubic feet.
3. The outlet device for the sediment chamber is
a block wall, fashioned as shown on this sheet.
The block wall shall be constructed with five
(5) inch long weirs set with sixteeen (16) inch
blocks separating the weirs. The elevation of
the weirs shall be set at + 8.6' and the elevation
of the highest portion of the wall shall be + 8.65'
16" 16"
Ele = + 8.6' _ - '---4
5 Ele-+8.6 5,
Elevation of f loor of sediment chamber is + 7.0'
this allows a depth of 1.6' over sediment chamber
or a volume of 916 cubic feet.
23.75'
4. The sediment chamber f lows into the sand filter chamber.
The sand filter chamber has a concrete floor. It is contained
by paraged masonry walls. The Sediment chamber contains 572 sq. ft.
The sand filter has a depth of 1.6'. The sand size is less than 2 mm.
5. The sand f ilter has a vegetated f ilter located downstream (at the outlet).
The vegetated filter shall be contained within a wall as shown,
complete with centipede sod. The outlet elevation of the vegetated
f ilter shall be set at t 6.0' . This filter is approximately 85 feet long.
