RE: 9550 Ploof Road Development— Sewer Main Extension SEP 2 8 2020
9650 Ploof Road, Leland, N.C. 28451 NCDEQ
WILMINGTON RO
A set of existing restrooms service the entire property and wastewater is currently treated by a septic
tank and leech field. The existing restrooms will be demolished, and the septic system will be
decommissioned per state standards. The proposed sewer main extension will provide service to a
new restroom facility being constructed to replace the existing restrooms on the above referenced site.
The proposed project includes the installation of a sewer lift station and approximately 330 Linear Feet
of 1-1/2" HDPE SDR9 Force Main. The proposed force main will be connected to an existing 6" Force
Main on the southeast side of Ploof Road. Reported head at connection point is 48 feet per H2Go
(WWTP Facility Operator).

Good Afternoon Dean,
My client decided to shift over to fast track, which included a re -design of the system to meet the requirements of the
fast track process.
The system is now duplex, the flow tracking form has been updated, and some other miscellaneous changes we
implemented due to comments and redesign of system. There is only one building that will have bathroom
facilities. The 64 gpd in question was from NC code for storage units which is 1gal/unit/day and was applied for 64 units.
If you require any other documentation or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The goal of the Fast Track sewer permit program is to issue a permit in no more than 30 business days from receipt of a complete application and if
no additional information has to be requested upon full review. Please use the Department's Permit Application Tracker to determine the official
application receipt date to allow you to estimate a date for issuance and find the reviewer's name. Once issued, the record stays on the site for 30
days.
For previously issued sewer permit info or to check on sewer certification receipt status, please use the Division's Sewer Extension Permit
Tracker. Using the Issue Date on top of the Engineer Certification Form is best way to ensure getting what you want especially for multi -version
permits; using today's date only gives Info on the latest permit version. Confirmation using this method will replace letters and emails: it is
recommended that confirmation be printed and/or saved.

Subject: 9550 Ploof Road Commercial pump station sewer app
Importance: High
Hi Brandon,
First of all, the application (SSEA 04-16) submitted to our office was not the Fast Track application (FTA 04-16) which is
the correct one to use for permitting through the regional offices and covers a majority of permitting requests statewide
if the design & request meets all our sewer Minimum Design Criteria and the 2T regs.
I can use the one submitted if the project is approvable as presented. To that end, it appears that you would like to use
a simplex or single pump setup tying into a force main. Our rules and/or design criteria do not allow simplex for non-
residential without a variance being granted and permitting through our Central Office in Raleigh where the application I
have normally goes. If this is your intention, then I can forward the materials submitted up. They would need your full
design and modeling information; I can forward whatever I have. Christyn heads up the permitting group in Raleigh.
Also, the requested flow in the application package shows at least 3 different flows being requested —439 gpd in Item
VI.7, 514 gpd in Item VI. 8, and 625 gpd on the FTSE form. This value will need to be reconciled to match throughout
the request and design.
Additionally, it appears on the drawings provided that there are multiple buildings on the site either existing and/or
proposed. The narrative indicates this will only serve a new common restroom facility which is assumed to be the only
wastewater flow entering the station, correct? I am kind of unclear as to what this site is or does and the storage flow of
64 gpd in Item VI. 8 is not well explained as to what it is for.
