SUBJECT: In -Stream Assessment
Randleman, N.C.
Randolph County
Due to a request by Mr. Phil Pendry, Town Manager, Randleman for
connection of two (2) projects under the authority of 143-215.67(b), a
steam assessment must be performed.

The data given abcve for BOD5 is an average of data by Randleman
and our readings..
B. Future Additions
The connection of wastewater from proposed site of Nantucket Hosiery
Mills Corp. would eventually mean 125,000 gallons/day of flow. The pend-
ing connection of flow from Worthville Community would add another 10,000
gallons/day. The industrial flow will be a 20% increase of hydraulic
loading and likely a greater organic_ loading. It is expected that the ef-
fluent BOD5 & TKN could increase by 10% above their present level to, BOD5 =
40 MG/L + TKN = 3.6.
YKM
A composite sample of July 1977 showed 4.2 MG/L NHgand 6.9 MG/LAwhich
is a 61% ratio. This comparison with present TKN gives a final set of
values: BOD5 = 40 MG/L, NITS = 2.2 MG/L,
C. Stream Assessment :
The assessment is needed to determine if the flow increase will have a
detrimental effedt on the receiving stream. Call if you have any questions.
