The Division of Water Resources (Division) received your sludge survey information on
September 23, 2020. With the survey results, you requested an extension of the sludge survey
requirement for 1 at the J&W Swine Company facility. Due to the amount of treatment volume
available, and the rate of sludge accumulation for the lagoon, the Division agrees that a sludge
survey is not needed until December 31, 2022. Lagoon 2 is granted and extension to December
31, 2022. Lagoon 3 is granted an extension to December 31, 2023. Lagoon 6 is granted an
extension to December 31, 2022.
The next sludge survey for lagoons 1,2 and 6 at J&W Swine Company should be performed
before December 31, 2022. Lagoon 3 next sludge Survey should be performed by December
31, 2023. Please retain this letter and keep it with your farm records for reference.
