T. Harris Boulevard), Culvert Extension, Mecklenburg County; Catawba River Basin (Cataloging Unit 03050101); Southern Piedmont (SP) Eco-Region The purpose of this letter is to notify you that the Ecosystem Enhancement Program (EEP) will provide the compensatory stream mitigation for the unavoidable impact associated with the above referenced project. Based on the information received from the NCDOT on August 18, 2009, the impacts are located in CU 03050101 of the Catawba River Basin in the Southern Piedmont (SP) Eco-Region, and the anticipated mitigation credits needed to offset the impacts are as follows: Catawba Stream Wetlands Buffer (Sq. Ft.) 03050101 SP Cold Cool Warm Riparian Non- Riparian Coastal Marsh Zone 1 one P 2 Impacts(feet/acres) 0 0 23 0 0 0 0 0 Mitigation Units (Credits- up to 2:1) 0 0 46 0 0 0 0 0 Mitigation associated with this project will be provided in accordance with Section X of Amendment No. 2 to the Memorandum of Agreement between the N. C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the N. C. Department of Transportation, and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers fully executed on March 8, 2007 (Tri-Party MOA). EEP commits to implement sufficient compensatory stream mitigation in the appropriate cataloging unit in the amount listed in the above table to offset the impacts associated with this.project by the end of the MOA year in which this project is permitted. If the above referenced impact amounts are revised, then this mitigation acceptance letter will no longer be valid and a new mitigation acceptance letter will be required from EEP.
