I have looked at the plans for this project and I do not think it is a good idea to put the sand filter on the footprint of the
wetlands as they have proposed. One issue is that we do not typically placement of BMPs in wetlands as meeting
avoidance & minimization criteria. The other reason is that the BMP Manual requires that there be a minimum
separation of 1' between the bottom of the sand filter and the SHWT. The sand filter design they show on Plan Sheet 5
is already up to 15' below the ground surface! I feel certain they will not be able to meet that criteria on the footprint of
a wetland.
Let me know if you want my help in crafting a hold bullet on that.
