We investigated the matter and found that heavy ponding of stormwater had accumulated in a crop field and was directly inflowing into a damaged manhole ring and lid. Repairs to the manhole were promptly completed to seal the ring to the cone and make it watertight. We are actively finding the location of these manholes in our system that may be damaged or compromised because of their low lying location. Attached is the Weather information to the severe thunderstorm event that occurred on February 6 through February 7, 2020. Thanks, Duane Duane Wingo, PE Stanly County Utilities Director 1 1000 N.
