The Winston Salem Regional Office of the Division of Water Quality received your letter and application
for the Replacement of Bridge No. 73 over Lake Lucas (Back Creek) on SR 1518
Project Name project in Randolph County. Based on our review of the project details, you do not appear to be
proposing a development activity at this site at this point in time that would be subject to the stormwater
requirements as provided for in Title 15A NCAC 02H .1000. Please be advised that other regulations Will
potentially apply to your proposed activities.
If your project disturbs one acre or more and has a point source discharge of stormwater runoff, then it is
subject to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater discharge requirements.
You are required to have an NPDES permit for stormwater discharge from projects meeting these criteria.
This exemption applies only to the State Stormwater Management Permit for the currently proposed ,
activity. If at any time in the future, development of any part of this site is planned, as defined in 15A NCAC 02H
1000, or if the proposed activities differ in any manner from what is shown on the plans on file with the Division,
you must submit the project for review of the applicability of the Stormwater management rules. If you have any
