NWP 6 says that "Fill placed for roads and other similar activities is not authorized by this NWP.", so it cannot be used. Our Geotech folks need to do some drilling on the U-2579AB project. The actually drilling will not result in any impacts to jurisdictional features, but they will need to install a temporary crossing. Are you ok with them working under the non -reporting NW6 ort 33? Thanks in advance! Please see my email below to Kevin Neal regarding placing a temporary pipe in an unnamed JS tributary to Fiddlers Creek to provide access to the proposed culvert location shown in the attachments and the Google Map link below. I'm hoping this work will fall under the Nationwide 6 Permit for Survey Activities. I do not believe the drilling activity will require "permitting", however I'm guessing the temporary pipe might at least need a curtesy notification to the agencies??? The plan is to place 2-3 sections of concrete pipe, probably 3-5' diameter (won't know until Kevin looks at the site), in the JS tributary to Fiddlers Creek to allow our track drill rig to cross the JS to perform 3 borings along the north side of Fiddlers Creek. The borings will not be in the creek and will be performed with a rubber track mounted drill rig. I believe the placement of the pipe can be done from the north side of the JS with minimal disturbance and should not require any cover to be placed over the pipe, thereby minimizing disturbance to the JS and the banks. Also, the pipe should only need to be in place for 5-7 days. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll be happy to put together a field meeting if you would like to meet on -site to discuss. Below is a Google Maps link to a culvert site that we need to access to perform borings. I've also attached the Culvert Survey Report and roadway plan sheet. The house at 2 1960 Embark Drive, Parcel 373, appears abandoned and maybe part of early R/W acquisition. There is a small tributary behind this house that we need to cross in order to gain access to a proposed 3- barrel culvert on Fiddlers Creek. Would it be possible to set a couple sections of concrete pipe that we could track the drill across? I don't think you would need to put any cover over the pipe. We need to drill 3 borings, so the pipe would need to be in for say a week; 1 day for you to set, 3 days of drilling max, then 1 day to pull pipe out. Let me know what you think. If it's something you think y'all can do we can schedule a day to meet out there and discuss.
