Subject: Notice of Violation Raleigh Rcoional Office
Case Number NOV-2020-13V-0408—w&-,s6o 1cL3
September 24,2020
The following is in response to the Notice of Violation dated September 14, 2020.
➢ Incident # 202002283, 301 Holland Rd Fuquay Varina, NC
On August 4, 2020 Tropical Storm Isaias came through the area dumping 6 inches plus of rain
throughout the area. We monitored pump stations and sewer mains throughout the event, and
this was the only overflow occurring that day. This incident was called in by a homeowner after
the event was over. I believe that with the amount of rain that the area received from this tropical
storm, we are very fortunate that this was the only SSO we had.
Method of Abatement
The homeowner found the paper around the manhole after the incident was over. There was no
need for abatement because the manhole had already stopped overflowing
Clean up procedures
The paper was cleaned up around the manhole and lime was applied to the impacted area. The
creek was observed and with all the rain that came through with the tropical storm, no impacts to
the receiving stream were observed.
