Inspection Summary:
A routine compliance inspection of the deemed collection system was conducted on September 17, 2020. The purpose of
the inspection was to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified within 2T
.0403 and the assigned Deemed Permit WQCSD0634. Present during the inspection were Stanley E Buck, operator for the
system, and myself (Bryan Lievre) with DWR.
The collection system is equipped with three pump stations. Pump Station 1 is located just south of the entrance in the
wastewater treatment plant in the southeast corner of the parking lot for the Island Beach Condominiums. Pump Station 2
is located south of W Fort Macon Rd (NC Hwy 58), south of the Dollar General Store, west of the eastern entrance to the
Ocean Resorts complex. Pump Station 3 is located in the Seaside Villa's, approximately 315 feet north of NC Hwy 58 and
175 feet west of Pelican Drive.
All pump stations were equipped with duplex pumping systems with visual and audible alarms as well as signs with proper
identification and contact information. Stations 1 and 2 are hard -wired to be powered by a backup generator located at the
WWTP in the event of a power outage. Pump Station 3 is equipped with it's own backup diesel powered generator. All
three pump stations appeared to be relatively free of oil and grease as well as floatable materials.
Records were available and complete. The facility is in compliance with the deemed permit conditions, as specified within
2T .0403. Please review the comment sections of the inspection report for more details.
