PtOR I I I CAR0I.1NA Envlranmental Quality September 14, 2020 SUBJECT: NOTICE OF DEFICIENCY Tracking Number: NOD-2020-DV-0030 Sanitary Sewer Overflows - August 2020 Collection System Permit No. WQCS00013 Cary Collection System Wake County Dear Mr. Revels: A review has been conducted of the self -reported Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) 5-Day Report submitted by Town of Cary. This review has shown the Town of Cary to be in violation of the requirements found in the subject permit and/or North Carolina G.S. 143-215.1(a)(1). Please note that the Division of Water Resources (DWR) began assessing civil penalties for severe and/or repeat SSOs starting December 1, 2007. Enforcement decisions are based on volume spilled, volume reaching surface waters, duration, gravity, impacts to public health, fish kills and other factors.
