Also reference your permit modification request letter and attachments received on August 3 and 12, 2020. NCDOT requests to modify impacts to jurisdictional waters and wetlands at Sites 1, 3, and 8 by proposing the following: Site 1: Extend riprap 20 linear feet on streambanks downstream of the proposed culvert to stabilize the bank in the vicinity of a power pole. Site 3: Add temporary fill to a wetland area that is constantly inundated. Add 130 linear feet of toe protection to stabilize slope along inundated wetland. Additional temp. fill in wetlands of 4,085 sq. ft./ 0.09 acres. Site 8: Placement of additional riprap will be needed to provide bank stabilization downstream of the culvert replacement. Approximately 30 linear feet of Class B stone or larger will be placed on both sides of the stream, extending the bank stabilization to the ROW line. Stone will be placed on the streambanks and not in the stream, impacting no additional surface waters. Following evaluation of the information submitted in your modification request, the Corps has determined that the request is appropriate and reasonable for stabilization activities provided the following conditions are met: -2- a. Mod. Special Condition #1) All work will be conducted in accordance with the updated plans submitted in association with the modification request sent on August 3, 2020, and August 12, 2020. b. Mod. Special Condition #2) NCDOT shall obtain all required Local, State, and Federal permits for this modification prior to conducting the requested work. This decision is not contrary to the public interest, and no public notice is required for this modification.
