Mr. Moore — some weeks ago we submitted a request to terminate the SWPPP permit at our Kannapolis NC
DTL facility. You indicated some concerns about material staged around this building and the basic condition
of the site. In addition to no longer completing any industrial activity at this site we have recently completed a
cleanup of the area. In the last two weeks we have completed the following:
• Picked up trash and debris that was dumped on our property by others,
• Removed excessive vegetation from around the former depot structure and parking area,
• Secured all windows and doors to prevent further access by tresspassers and vagrants,
• Cleaned interior of structure of trash and debris,
Removed all windows to prevent future broken glass concerns and removed their asbestos caulk to
prevent impact to pedestrians and visitors to this site.
Please review the attached photos. At this time we again request termination of this permit. The remaining
material that is stored on this site are all materials that are staged for business purposes on this site to be used
for rail maintenance and derailment repairs in the immediate vicinity. The stored materials consist of rail road
ties, metal plates/spikes and some rail switch components. In the next two weeks we will be removing some
scrap rail and steel for offsite disposal.
If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

Adam B. Motsinger
