There will be a minimal amount of clearing at the top of the bank. The top of the bank sits at approximately Full Pond level. There will possibly be some trees taken out when Bennick Grading does a gentle slope in order to keep the Rustic Boulders on the bank and not falling back into the lake. I will guess a total of maybe 10 trees at the most may be taken down! Or, there may be none! There is also some underbrush. Turn North, onto Dysartsville Rd. You will go .6 miles on Dysartsville Rd. and it will end with a T in the road at US 70. Turn Left onto US 70. Go 1.6 miles on US 70 until you see the Mulch Farm on the Right. There will be a Brown Sign that says: Lake James / Crescent Community and another Brown Sign that says, Lake James State Park on the Right. There will also be a green sign that says, South Mountain Children's Home, just before your Right turn onto Bridgewater Rd. After you turn Right onto Bridgewater Rd. you will go 1.2 miles, past the Mulch Farm and over the railroad tracks. On your right there will be two more signs to look for, the Lake James State Park sign and South Mountain Children's Home sign. When you see these two signs, you will turn Left onto Benfield Landing. When you are making the turn you will see the Brown Sign for Lake James Crescent Communities. Take Benfield Landing to the end, 2.2 miles. It ends at Hwy 126, with another T in the road. Turn Right onto Hwy 126 E. Again you should see three signs, for Lake James State Park, Lake James Crescent Communities and for South Mountain Children's Home. You will go a total of 2.1 miles on Hwy 126 E. You will pass over the bridge that separates the Upper Lake from the Lower Lake. Paddy's Creek State Park will be on your Right after the bridge. You will now follow only the signs for South Mountain Children's Home. After the 2.1miles on Hwy 126 there will be a Y in the road. The main road goes to the right. You will follow the sign for South Mountain Children's Home to the LEFT onto South Mountain Institute Road. You will see the campus of the Children's Home on your Right and Left. You will go a total of 1.1 miles, just after South Mountain Children's Home there will be another Y in the road. Stay to your left, onto Linville Rd. You will go 1.8 miles on Linville Rd. Next, you will see the gate for The Peninsula Preserve on your left. The code for the gate is 2080. After entering, turn left at the second road on your left. This is Pine Ridge. The next Left will be Crest View Drive NE. Lot #56 is at the end of Crest View Drive NE on the left. There will be a white pole marker for the lot. See diagram of the lot to make it to the shoreline.
