Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.gov Thom, I appreciate the heads up. I've just talked with the owner this morning. He's confirmed that they have decided to close down the mining permit and the application for dewatering. The property is for sale and he is going to keep the mining permit active for another six months before rescinding it if the property doesn't sell. If a new owner comes in and wants to continue mining they can add dewatering with a new application to your office. So as of now, please rescind the application for an NPDES General Permit to dewater. Thanks for all the past work on this. In the interest of corralling all the COCs with you, I am reassigning it to you — but I think it probably needs to be returned (because of the length of time we did not get the add info we needed) or withdrawn (by request of the applicant or consultant). This application is two years old now. Tom Edgerton is the contact in WaRO for this one. I've copied him in case he has an update. Thom — Mike Meloy is our new general permit COC contact in the Central Office. The consultant, Mr. Ken Elliot, has quite a few sand mine clients in the state, and he has been in touch about other sites because the renewal for this GP is happening. You could also check with him about whether this mine operation still needs a permit, or if it can be withdrawn. His current email is ken@kenobx.com I also have lots of notes next to the events I updated in BIMS. I'll bring in the hard copy file and leave it on your desk one day this week (we'll have to maintain the original signed copy if this stays open), but everything is also in Laserfiche.
