Mr.Evans,
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. As we discussed last week during the follow up inspection and this morning at
the training meeting,an extension will be granted based on the amount of work already done toward this goal.It is DWR's
understanding that the additional time is needed for DOT to complete an internal review of the wetland restoration plan which will
help ensure it meets regulatory requirements.
DOT and Lane Construction are granted an additional 14 calendar days to respond to NOD-2020-PC-0222 with the original due date
of 6/12/2020;the response is now due on 6/26/2020.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Donna Hood

Subject: I-3819B Notice of Deficiency Response
Ms. Hood,
The Department, along with Lane Construction, is working on our response to the Notice of Deficiency Letter for I-3819B
received on May 22, 2020. To date, we have assessed the additional stream and wetland impacts beyond permitted
boundaries, taken pictures of the restored area, trained all equipment operators on I-3819B, and have a preliminary
restoration plan. The Design Build team submitted the restoration plan today and it's currently under review. I would
like to request an extension of 14 calendar days in order to have an approved restoration plan that has been reviewed
by the Department and coordinated with NCDEQ and US Army Corps of Engineers. If this requested is granted, the
response will be submitted no later than June 26,2020. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Matthew Evans, PE
