Subject: Neuse River Riparian Buffer Requirements
Lenoir County
Dear Mr. Miller
At your request, a representative from the Division of Water Quality (Washington Region) made a site visit to the
industrial park area north of Hwy 70 west of Kinston. This visit was made to determine the subjectivity of an
unnamed tributary to Falling Creek. The feature which runs from east to west, and then curves to the southeast
and crosses under a paved road is a drainage ditch. This ditch is not applicable to the Neuse River Riparian
Buffer Rules (15A NCAC 2B .0233). Please see attached map, which indicates the section of this feature which
was determined by DWQ staff.
