Based on the current guidance to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Environmental Quality has
adjusted operations to protect the health and safety of the staff and public. Many employees are working remotely or
are on staggered shifts. To accommodate these staffing changes, all DEQ office locations are limiting public access to
appointments only. Please check with the appropriate staff before visiting our offices, as we may be able to handle your
requests by phone or email. We appreciate your patience as we continue to serve the public during this challenging
time.

Good morning Mr. Meloy,
I wanted to follow-up on my voicemail from earlier this morning regarding the SIC code for the Lenoir Public
Works Facility. Prior to submitting our NOI and application packet I discussed this with our Asheville regional
representative, Mr. Isaiah Reed. At that time we could not identify what we felt was an accurate SIC code to capture the
operations at our facility so we left that portion blank. We considered codes in the 4's (4XXX), but those focused heavily
on transportation. We do have a fleet fueling station and service garage, but do not operate public transportation
services out of our facility. Also, our facility serves as office space and vehicle/equipment storage for public works and
utilities crews, but beyond our fleet service garage we perform very little work at the facility.
I'd like to discuss this with you and perhaps get some guidance on how to classify our facility for our current
purpose as well as future reference. At your convenience, please contact me at the number below or via email. Thank
you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you.

Mr. Wright:
I am currently processing the stormwater permit for City of Lenior Public Works Facility, and was hoping you could
provide me with the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this facility. Thank you!
