I noted the planting plan shown on the application. I am not sure if you have spoken with this office and/or with the previous owner regarding shoreline stabilization. If you were working under the old shoreline approval 19-1371, that was modified under version #2 which excluded your property. For clarification, the clearing of the buffer is a violation of the Catawba Riparian Buffer Rule and was not approved. For clarification, —250 ft of shoreline has been impacted due to the shoreline stabilization project. Based on this lengtn 44 trees, 3" diameter at breast height, and 8 ft in height native specie trees are required to be planted. These are to be planted randomly through out the impacted buffer area (Zone1). Within 30 ft of the top of riprap, along the entirety of the shoreline. This number can be reduced by any existing trees remaining inside the 30 ft zone. Prior to issuing the approval, I wanted to touch base. This will become a condition of the 401 approval. The expectation is that this work will be completed by the end of October and monitoring required for at least a year to ensure survival and replace any tree as necessary.
