Subject: RE: R-5812 (C204358) Bank Repair
Heather and Jay,
I've reviewed the Buffer Authorization request that was submitted for this work(DWR project# 20200969). All the
impacts are kept at or below the top of bank and no riparian buffers are impacted, therefore a Buffer Authorization is
not required. The Corps is not requiring a 404 so a 401 is not required from DWR. Any buffers temporarily impacted by
construction activities need to be restored to natural grade and revegetated. Should the scope of the project change,
please notify me as a 401 or BA may be required.
Thanks,
Garcy Ward

Subject: R-5812 (C204358) Bank Repair
Tom/Garcy,
As you know from our previous field meeting on R-5812 in Snow Hill, we have been working on a solution to address the
bank erosion on private property. Please see the attached sketch which shows our repair recommendation which utilizes
rip rap class II and class B. We have reviewed this tentative plan with the property owners and this satisfies them. Going
forward, what do we need to do for agency approval since this is repair work(and off site)? Once we get approval, we
can proceed very quickly with this repair. Please let me or Rhett know if you have any questions regarding the repair
methodology.
Thank you,
HeatherC. Lane, P.E.
