The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted a Bioassay Compliance Inspection of the Baxter
Healthcare Corporation on 8/04/2020 and 08/06/2020. This inspection was conducted to verify that the
facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No.
NC006564 for this permit condition. The test resulted in a pass and the facility appeared to be in compliance
with NPDES WW Permit No. NC0006564. Findings noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed
copy of the inspection report.

There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this
inspection report is not required.

On 08/04/2020 and 08/06/2020, I (Lauren Armeni) and Tim Heim conducted Bioassay Compliance
Inspections at the Baxter Healthcare WWTP. Whole Effluent samples were split with the assistance of
Brian Valiquette for use in a chronic ceriodaphnia dubia pass-fail toxicity test. The toxicity test passed
for both the Division's sample (analyzed by our Bioassay Laboratory in Raleigh) and Baxter's sample
(analyzed by Environmental Testing). Toxicity test information follows:

Test Result: Pass
Test Concentrations: 16%
Control Survival: 100%
Control Mean Reproduction: 27.2 neonates
Test Treatment Survival: 100%
Treatment Mean Reproduction: 27.9 neonates
