Cause and actions taken for each incident are listed below. Incident #202001130 The overflow in this event was due to debris in the line as a result of vandalism. We used our small trailer jetter and our combo truck to try and clear the blockage. Our crews were unable to clear the blockage that evening. We set up the City's 8" Godwin bypass pump from MH01406 to MH01400 so that we could stop the SSO. With the pump in place and use of the combo truck we were able to pump the surcharging manhole down to see the inverts. The culprit of the SSO was debris such as wood, brick and asphalt blocking the flow in the mouth of the outlet pipe. All debris was removed and normal flow was restored. We removed as much of the spoiled soil as possible and placed clean backfill around the manhole. We also treated the affected area with lime as needed. Straw and grass seed was placed to stabilize the area. To help prevent this from happening again in this area, we locked down several manhole tops utilizing tar. Incident #202001315 The overflow in this incident was due to inflow and infiltration during extended periods of heavy rainfall. Once the rain event ended, the overflow subsided. Following the overflow we cleaned debris and placed lime in the area as needed. Moving forward, Henderson City Council has approved a CIP project for an EQ tank at the Sandy Creek Pump Station for fiscal year 2020-2021. The EQ tank will increase capacity at the pump station during heavy rain events and help to prevent spills. This project is contingent on Council allocating the funds for the project. The Council is expected to vote on allocating the funds for this project at the next Council Meeting on September 14, 2020. Thank you very much for the opportunity to respond. We take our responsibility to maintain compliance for our collection system very seriously. I trust that you find the City's actions for compliance are satisfactory. Please feel free to contact our staff or myself should you need any further information. Used trailer jetter and vac/jet truck with no success. Called ORC and his crew to help with blockage and was unable to clear the blockage that evening. Used 8" Godwin bypass pump to bypass sewer main from MHO1406 to MHO1400 as a temporary fix to keep manhole from surcharging. Ran pump from 10 pm 4/5/2020 to 2 am 416120 as a precaution due to very light demand due to the school being closed. Was also assisted with manpower from the wastewater treatment plant in set up/tear down. On 416120 debris (including 2x4's, Bricks, & Asphalt) was pulled from the flow channel of MHO1406 and normal flow was restored. SM&atNonhCararauGOT Uri. WERE Garmin.
