Dear Ms. Karoly,
I was asked to provide additional information for my buffer authorization request for the Agassi
Court Drainage Project. Below (or attached as specified) are my responses (in bold) to this
request. Please let me know if you need additional information or clarification to these responses.
On the site plan, please provide:
a. One-foot topographic contour lines
b. The boundaries of the riparian buffer and the pond.
c. The entire storm pipe drainage system with a clear distinction between existing
and new pipes.
d. A scaled depiction of the dissipater pad you propose to use at each outlet.
See attached plan sheets provided
2. The plans should be sealed by an appropriate design professional.

3. Please explain how peak flow control will be provided for the undeveloped portion of the
drainage area in order to protect the Wimbledon subdivision from future flooding
problems after these improvements are made.
The watershed is substantially built out. The last buildable lot is currently under
development (Waltonwood Retirement Community which faces Cary Parkway) and the
majority of that lot is built out. There is only 2.0 acres left of the 17.5 acre lot that has
buildable area left on that lot within the watershed of the cul-de-sac. In addition to the
fact that the majority of the watershed is built out, the Town of Cary recently
implemented a peak flow control Ordinance which limits post-development peak
discharge to under 10% of pre-development discharges for the 2, 5, and 10-year events.
In addition to those items requested, I have attached a cd which contains a pdf file of the
plans. This particular pdf file is layered which means you can turn on and off different layers
of the drawing just like in AutoCAD. Below is a list of specific layers which may help clarify
which pipes are new and which are existing.
Layer Description
C-SSWR-Pipe This is the new proposed storm drainage pipe.
e-storm this is the existing storm drainage pipe to remain in place and functioning.
P-Storm This is the section of existing storm drain pipe to be encased and
abandoned.
I have also attached revised watershed layouts which show the section of the drainage which
has been directed away from the cul-de-sac (Waltonwood). All calculations were conducted
based on the post-diversion drainage.
