All,
The Division of Water Resources Asheville Regional Office is aware of this issue. Grandfather Golf and Country Club
recently completed a lake dredging project. Linville River flow was restored to the lake upon completion of the project
and disturbed sediment on the lake bottom became entrained during lake refill. There is no active land-disturbance
causing the issue.
The Golf Club is working to address the issue.

Hey folks,
NCDOT is replacing the Avery 1 bridge on Ruffin St., adjacent to HWY 221 over the Linville River. I received the attached
photos and video from our staff today, showing some upstream sediment issues. The email below has some information
as well. Earlier this year there were issues with sedimentation in the Linville River, prior to NCDOT working on the
bridge, but no clue if it’s the same issue causing it this time. I wanted to let everyone know the problem is upstream of
our project, in case you had calls trying to connect us to the sediment.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Jason Tillery
