SW TSS Abatement & Maintenance Quarterly Report (Apr - Jun 2020)
Dear James,
In addition to other Best Management Practices (BMPs), Charlotte Pipe continues to maintain
the following BMPs specifically for TSS Abatement:
• Continuous sweeping of outside areas around the facility;
• Operation and collection of dust with 20+ baghouses equipped with covered collection
boxes;
• Operation of water spray on charging system and in scrap yard;
• Pumping stormwater sumps from charging area and scrap yard to WWTP for treatment;
• Placement of catch pans under hopper bottoms of feldspar delivery truck during raw
material unloading; and
• Maintaining & replacement of drain/sock inserts in specified drains/culverts around
the facility.
Please find attached the Filter Insert Maintenance Schedule for CY2020 YTD.
The most recent analytical sampling was conducted March 2020 (Jan - Jun 2.020). Follow-up
sampling will be conducted July - Dec 2020.
