Description of Treatment System

treatment system in a separate sheet of paper.
The site has a 5,000-gallon flow equalization basin with dual .5 hp alternating pumps and
manual bar screen, six 5,000-gallon aeration basins with dual 549-CFM blowers providing
diffused air, 2 rectangular 5,200 gallon clarifiers with skimmers and sludge returns, 5,000-
gallon aerobic digester, tablet chlorine disinfection, 875 gallon chlorine contact chamber,
tablet dechlorination, 500 gallon dechlorination/post aeration chamber.

It is my understanding that the sludge from this waste water treatment plant (WTPP) is
wasted from the clarifier as process control dictates necessity. Sludge is collected in a
dedicated tank for thickening. Mike Smith, a North Carolina licensed waste hauler, hauls
the thickened sludge to the local WWTP for disposal.
