The problem is where they constructed the hammerhead turn around where Plantation Rd will terminate West of SR4. The radius for the hammerhead is so tight to the JS we have a 1.5:1 slope right of to the edge of pavement, therefore we need to add rip rap bank stabilization in this radius to hold the slope. The rip rap will extend from the preexisting driveway pipe back to where the radius terminates which is approximately 18 ft. Site 40 was permitted for 20 ft of permanent impacts for a pipe that conveys stormwater from the lateral ditch along SR4 under Plantation Rd into the JS. The plans called for a rip rap pad which is not warranted and has been eliminated. The only impacts at this site is where the 24” pipe stubs out into the JS. With the 2ft of pipe at the original Site 40 and the proposed additional 18 ft of banks stabilization the total impacts for this site will not change and remain 20 ft as was authorized. The screen shot below is a blowup of the area and work described above. SR4 and the hammerhead turn around have been paved and we need to get this radius stabilized with rip rap before we have a heavy rain event that could washout this area. Since there is no increase in impacts. Please let me know if we are good to proceed with this work as a field adjustment that can be documented with this e-mail and attached permit drawing.
