I 1I Water Quality Regional Operations Asheville Regional Office On May 18", 2020, The Town of Burnsville had a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO). The cause of this was due to the force main breaking. This lasted 390 minutes and resulted in losing 4,000 gallons of raw sewage. The pumps were turned off at the OMC Pump Station and we had three pumps trucks pumping and hauling while the Town's crew worked on the line. The pump trucks hauled the sewer to the manhole that is located next to the McDonalds in town. The Town has repaired this break and are working on a plan to replace the force main.
