Condition #19 of the IP and Condition #4 of the 401 WQC required monitoring of the wetlands located adjacent to the proposed stormwater pond to ensure the pond was not having a drainage effect on the wetlands. Staff of LMG established two data point locations in these wetlands prior to construction (one located south and one located west of the pond; see Figure 2). The pre -construction data forms were completed in July of 2017 and documented hydrology, vegetation, and soil conditions prior to the pond installation. The water table was found to be 14" to 18" below ground during the site visit. Rainfall for that time period was below normal to normal (see attached 30-day and 90-day precipitation graphs). Monitoring Year 1 post -construction data forms were completed in May of 2018. Site conditions were similar to what was documented in 2017. The water table was documented to be 5" to 14" below ground during this site visit. The rainfall for that time period was normal to above normal. Vegetation and soil descriptions remained fairly constant across time periods. Monitoring Year 2 post -construction data forms were completed in May of 2019. Site conditions were similar to what was documented in 2017 and 2018. The water table was documented www.lmgroup.net • info@lmgroup.net • Phone: 910.452.0001 • Fax: 910.452.0060 3805 Wrightsville Avenue, Suite 15 • Wilmington, NC 28403 to be 10" to 13" below ground during this site visit. The rainfall for that time period was below normal to normal. Vegetation and soil descriptions remained fairly constant across time periods. Monitoring Year 3 post -construction data forms were completed in June of 2020. Site conditions were similar to what was documented in other monitoring years. The water table was documented to be 12" to 20" below ground during this site visit. The rainfall for that time period was normal to above normal. Vegetation and soil descriptions remained fairly constant across time periods. Enclosed are site maps, data forms, precipitation graphs, and site photos. It is the opinion of LMG that the stormwater pond is not having a drainage effect on the adjacent wetlands. Per the IP & 401 WQC, LMG has completed the monitoring of these wetlands. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your assistance with this project. Sincerely, Corey Novak, PWS Environmental Scientist— Project Manager Encl.
