K-,,LW1--X)1 All work under this section shall be performed under the guidelines of the NC DOT Minimum Construction Standards for Subdivision Roads, and all other appropriate NCDOT Standards. Materials: A. Any reference to base aggregate or stone shall mean ABC stone, meeting the NCDOT gradation standards compacted to 98 % of the standard proctor ASTM D698. Asphalt shall be SP-9.5. Minimum thicknesses shall be W of ABC stone as base course and 3" of SP-9.5 Asphalt B. On -site determination of the additional materials necessary to stabilize the roadway will be made by the engineer. C. All materials shall most the standards set forth in the latest edition of the North Carolina Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures. D. Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) shall be Class Ill. Preparation of the road bed: A. A 1` Minimum of top soil is to be excavated and removed. A. The subgrade shall be grubbed and cleared of all trees, brush and root and other arganic matter. B. Proof -roll all subbase material. Excavate and remove all base material that is notsuitable for road construction. Fill with select sand that has less than 10% fines passing the #200 sieve. The upper two feet of all aavement subgrade shall be select sand compacted to a minimum of 98% of standard proctor dry density or as specified by the engineer. C. No base Course shall be placed on muck, organic matter or other unsuitable material. Guarantee: The contractor shall guarantee all materials furnished and work performed for a period of (2) two years f m the date of acceptance. 0 AD... WAY - NOTE: OTHER PROJECTS SHALL BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN THE IMMEDIATE VACINITY OF 1HE PROJECT, SUBSTANTIALLY AT THE SAME TIME. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING HIS CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY WITH THOSE PROJECTS.
