The Town operates a wastewater treatment lagoon storage spray field irrigation system located
on 60 acres with 23.3 acres of this site used to spray treated effluent on. The collection system
consists of 5 mechanical lift stations located at varies sites in the system and the collection
piping system.
The Town of Pollocksville is continually maintain and operating the system to Federal (EPA) and
NC State (DEQ) standards.
The Town has not had a sewer spill within the collection system.
The town has received the following from NCDEQ :
1- Notice of Deficiency
August 2019
Issue: Not performing required testing
A- Chlorine, Total Residual
B- PH
Corrective action for this issue: The Town is setting up a certified testing Lab at 488
Goshen Road
2- Notice of Violation
September 2019
Issue: Monitoring Violation:
A- Non Discharge Application Rate
B- Non Discharge Application Rate
Corrective actions for issues: Error in reporting the application rates on the wrong
days Resubmitting corrected reporting form with correct information to NCDEQ
