The permit authorizes 0.003 acres of permanent wetland impacts, 3.774 acres of temporary wetland impacts, and 72 linear feet of temporary stream impacts. The permitted impacts are associated with the replacement of approximately 4.2 miles of transmission structures and overhead wiring associated with the Capps to Hendersonville 44kV Line Rebuild Project (Project) located in Henderson County, North Carolina. Recent changes in the Project's design have expanded the limits of disturbance to include additional temporary and permanent wetland impacts (i.e. 0.18 acres of temporary impacts and 0.01 acres of permanent wetland impacts). The impacts consist of temporary matting through wetlands to access structure HF- 93. The structure is proposed to be removed and replaced with structure T-89 within the same footprint. Permanent impacts are associated with the placement of washed stone to stabilize construction entrance from Balfour Road onto temporary matted access. A summary of previous permitted impacts to streams and wetlands, as well as new proposed impacts is provided in Tables 1 and 2. 440 S Church Street, Suites900 & 1000, Charlotte, NC 28202-2075 (704)338-6700 SAW-2019-02402 Capps to Hendersonville 44kV Line Rebuild Project June 11, 2020 Page 2 Table 1.
