Tim Heim performed a Bioassay Compliance Inspection on June 9 and June 11, 2020 at the Duke
Energy Asheville facility. Also present were Theresa Williams (Duke EHS Professional, BORC), Maria
Keezel (Duke ORC) and Matthew Fields (Anchor QEA, BORC). Split sampling was performed for the
chronic Ceriodaphnia dubia multiple -dilution toxicity test. The aquatic toxicity test grab samples were
taken from the stilling pond that discharges to Outfall 001 on the French Broad River. Toxicity test
resulted in a pass, and test information is as follows.

Test results for the above samples indicate that the effluent would not be predicted to have water
quality impacts on the receiving water. These samples were split and sent to Environmental Testing
Solutions, Inc. The test performed by ETS also resulted in a pass. No violations of permit
requirements or applicable regulations were observed during this inspection.
